Guidelines for Abstracts

Those wishing to participate in the Tourism & Ageing Conference are invited to submit:




All the texts (extended abstracts, full papers and posters) must be written and presented in English, Portuguese or Spanish. 



The extended abstracts should be no more than 350 words (line space 1,5, Times New Roman, font size 12). The manuscripts must include the name of all the authors, the institution represented and contact information, and should be presented in a separate sheet. If the abstract is selected, the submission deadline for the full paper is in October 10th.



The full papers should be no more than 5.000 words (line space 1,5, Times New Roman, font size 12), including images, tables, figures or another kind of appendix.



The Poster should have the following dimensions: 120cm x 85cm (approximately A0).


The manuscripts (including abstracts) will be double blind reviewed. Please indicate, on the first page of the manuscript, the track number for submission. The maximum number of submitted papers or abstracts accepted per author (either single or co-author) is three.


Case studies

The topics about Medical, Health and Wellness Tourism, Senior Tourism and Marketing to seniors are really relevant when we consider the demographic changes and the importance of tourism to the world economy. In this background, the present conference aims to link theory to practice, trying to present and discuss success cases, presented by the respective professionals.

These case studies, integrated into workshops, will be discussed and analyzed by national and international experts to predict the future of these themes. They will be moderated by an expert in the area, also involving other institutional and European actors and international organizations.

The submission of Case Studies in the areas of Senior Tourism, Medical Tourism, Health and Wellness, and Marketing for seniors, on a national and international level, should have the following characteristics:


a) Business Model

b) Vision and target

c) Competition

d) Business Strategies

e) Results

f) Future prospects


The Case Studies must be written in English, Portuguese or Spanish, and should be no more than 20 pages (line space 1,5, Times New Roman, font size 12). However, all sessions will be held in English.

The document must include the name of all the authors, the institution represented and contact information.
